Paint giveaway for Nottinghamshire!

We are excited that the Community RePaint Nottinghamshire scheme, run by our waste management partner Veolia, are giving away reusable paint from their Warsop and Calverton Recycling Centres in Nottinghamshire to local residents.

The Community RePaint Nottinghamshire scheme provides free paint to local community groups, however this is the first time that the scheme is open to local residents. In conjunction with the scheme, the Veolia recycling centres will be hosting a range of events to demonstrate the impact of the circular economy and how it reduces the impact on the environment.

Working with Veolia and the industry-lead PaintCare project, we are committed to helping create a sustainable circular economy for leftover paint reducing the amount that goes to landfill. It is estimated that 55 million litres of leftover decorative paint are generated each year in the UK, which largely ends up in landfill.

By working with local and national government, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders, donated and surplus paint is distributed to individuals, families, communities and charities in need, improving the wellbeing of people and the appearance of buildings.

Veolia, with Nottinghamshire County Council, will be running events at the following centres. Pre-booking is essential.

•   Calverton Recycling Centre, NG14 6NR - Thursday 15th September 4pm – 6pm
•   Warsop Recycling Centre, NG20 0JG - Tuesday 20th September 4pm – 6pm

For more information and booking contact Nottinghamshire County Council on 0300 500 8080.
