For the third consecutive year, Dacrylate Paints has been a finalist in the British Coatings Federations’ (BCF) Coating Care Environmental Programme, with this year yet again being nominated for the prestigious Coatings Care Overall Best Performer Award. In 2020, Dacrylate was nominated for the Coatings Care Progress Award, demonstrating significant year-on-year performance improvement.
The BCF’s Coatings Care environmental programme demonstrates that the UK coatings industry cares about the health and welfare of employees, the safe operation of processes, and shows determination to contribute actively to a sustainable environment. The voluntary programme provides an opportunity for members to benchmark their environmental performance against 45 key performance indicators and over 30 UK coatings and printing ink manufacturing sites take part.
Tom Bowtell, Chief Executive of the British Coatings Federation quoted “Dacrylate Paints have participated in BCF’s Health, Safety and Environmental KPI programme Coatings Care since 2014. For the last three years, they have been one of the best-performing sites in the UK, with improved energy use, no waste going to landfill and above industry average recycling levels. Both solvents purchased and VOC emissions per tonne of production were also lower than the industry average. It is a testament to Dacrylate given they are an SME, that they are punching above their weight and beating some of the Multinationals on their KPIs.”
The BCF’s Coating Care programme is just one of the sustainability honours that Dacrylate has received. This year, Dacrylate proudly announced that they had achieved the PlanetMark Business certification, and in 2021 Dacrylate prestigiously received the EcoVadis Gold award for sustainability performance, putting Dacrylate among the top 5% of companies assessed by EcoVadis within their sector.
